Grounding

Every day is a new day. Thankful for that. I was able to go back to work today to start catching up on the load that's been sitting there waiting for me. It was a very productive day.
Today I splurged and had some Chili's, but I made different choices this time. Normally I go there for the skillet queso and tons of chips and salsa. I'd eat the entire skillet queso by myself no problem. In addition to that, I would have some southwest egg rolls and the southwest grilled chicken salad (what can I say, I LOVE Mexican style food). This time, because I've been better about eating and I've been eating smaller portions with very little carbs, I decided to go ahead and still have the chips and queso and salsa, but I ate way less than I normally would. For my meal, I went with the ribs and I substituted the fries and macaroni & cheese with a side salad and broccoli. I only ate about 1/4-1/2 of the food I received and boxed up the rest. I'll get to enjoy it again tomorrow for lunch!
I worked long hours today so I didn't have enough time to do a full walk around the neighborhood (that's about 4 miles), so I went along with a similar route to the one I took last night. While I walked, I also listened more to the book I'm reading "Heal your Nervous System" by Dr Linnea Passaler. It's such an awesome book so far. I can still relate so well to it.
I wanted to go to the park to swing again after my walk but it was late, so I came back home and laid in the grass. I took my shoes off, pulled up my pant legs to my knees and sat on the ground. After a few minutes, I decided to fully lay with my arms out to get as much skin to grass contact as I could. I've read that grounding is a very important part of our body's ability to rid itself of inflammation. Because we are made from the Earth, it makes complete sense that us touching it directly would cause good things to happen. I've read that when you make skin to ground contact, your positive energy will get neutralized by the Earth's negative energy, which will reduce the amount of inflammation and other health problems caused by having too much positive energy. While I'm not a scientist and don't know for sure, it sounds logical enough to me that I'm willing to lay there and stare up at the stars for a while. When I was growing up, I was always outside. I spent a lot of time playing in the yard, riding bikes, skating, and swimming. In the south, it's normal to play in the ditches catching minnows and frogs after it rains, and I had a great relationship with the Earth when I was a kid because of it. Over the years, that went away and I've spent a lot of time blocked off from the land. I can't help but have curiosity about how much that's impacted how my body responds to stress and other issues.
Now it's getting late and I'm sipping on my calming tea, getting ready to go to bed. Thanks for listening, and happy healing! 💙
