Yesterday’s Celebration Yesterday was a productive and special day. We celebrated our daughter’s 18th birthday with Korean food, cake,...
This is a place for the scarred, the searching, and the still-healing.
Hi, I’m Jess — and I’m learning how to live fully with thousands of invisible scars.
Some of these scars are from childhood trauma and loss. Others are from chronic illness, mental battles, and seasons of feeling completely unseen. Many are still tender, because healing isn’t quick or linear.
For years, I thought I had to wait until I was “all better” before I could share my story. I believed no one wanted to see the messy middle — the setbacks, the doubts, the days when hope feels far away. But God’s been showing me that redemption doesn’t wait for perfection. He can turn even our still-healing wounds into something that shines with His grace.
Redeeming the Scars is my real-time journal — a place where I’m sharing what this journey looks like as it unfolds. Some days will be hopeful, others heavy. You’ll find reflections on faith, chronic illness, CPTSD, mental health, and the quiet ways God meets me in both joy and pain.
I’m not a therapist, pastor, or professional life coach — I’m simply a woman learning to trust that my story matters, and that your story matters too. My prayer is that as you read, you’ll feel less alone and more seen.
